Poker After Dark- Snap Call

They had finally lost a player on the NBC poker TV show Poker After Dark Brilliant Minds week. The six math based pros were very conservative, but David Sklansky was gone, leaving Brandon Adams, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Andy Bloch, Bill Chen and Jimmy Warren to compete for the winner take all $120,000 prize.

In this hand Andy limped in from the small blind, completing with:

Bill, sitting happy with a small pair of sailboats in the big blind, raised it up to $2,300, feeling strength in his:

although he probably would have been happy if Andy had folded. Andy called, however, and it was time for the flop.

The Flop hit:

and Andy checked his option, preferring to see what Bill would do. Bill, loving his sailboats now that he had a third, bet $2,200, saying “however much this is”. Andy did not wait long, feeling that his opponent was on a draw and liking his odds with top pair, and said “All in.”

Bill made a snap call, matching the bet. “Good luck. I probably don’t mean it” he said with a laugh.

The Turn was:

and Andy was drawing dead, no possible card to help him.

The River, useless, fell:

and the pot was shipped to Bill. As Andy had him out chipped, Bloch was still in the game.
