Flushing River

The two pros left knew each other well, and it was an even match of skill. It would mean either luck or a too many mistakes for one to beat the other.

It was the final table at the Season Seven World Poker Tour Legend of Poker, played at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles and only two players were left. The players were John Pham, Amit Makhija playing for the big win.

In this hand Amit held:

He limped in and John, holding:

checked his option to bet, looking for some free cards.

The Flop was:

John was first to act and he put out $270k in tourney chips. Amit made the call with King high, feeling good.

The Turn came:

rewarding Amit’s judgment. John bet out $500k and once again Amit called, this time with the best hand.

The River hit:

and just like that John had a flush and the win. But because of the way he played the hand Amit did not suspect. When John bet out $950k Amit made the call and lost big.
