It must really irritate the professional poker players when part time newcomers stumble into a championship.  The town was Atlantic City, the casino was Harrahs, and the final two players of the first WSOP circuit event to be held outside of Las Vegas were facing each other across the green felt of the final table.  The Poker Pro: Erick Lindgren, who had won over a million dollars in prizes during the 2004 World Series of Poker tournament season.  The Newcomer: Henry Tran, who started playing poker in 2003 after catching the championship WSOP game on a hotel TV.  Having these two very different players in the showdown spoke volumes about the unique nature of sport poker and its surging popularity. As the world found out when Chris Moneymaker won the championship in 2003, anyone with the skill and determination could enter the WSOP and emerge a millionaire.  Tran was the chip leader by a relatively narrow margin with just over 1.3 million in chips to Lindgrens nearly 1.2 million. Lindgren had:  He bet 40,000 over the blinds to get the action going.  Tran, a Canadian engineer who had called in sick to work in order to play at the final table, called with:  The Flop brought:  It gave Lindgren a pair of Queens and Tran an up and down straight draw. Tran showed his rookie status by looking up and asking, My turn?  He then promptly bet 100,000, to which his opponent responded by raising it to 280,000. Tran barely hesitated as he said, All in.  Lindgren actually looked shocked. Really? he asked. After a moment he called, bringing the pot to over 2 million in chips.  The players turned over their cards and Tran took his feet. The Turn was:  Lindgren watched, hoping Tran did not get a 3 or an 8, either which would make the straight he needed to win and become the next circuit champ.  The River, much to Lindgrens chagrin, was:  With a shout Henry Tran, the accidental champion, took the pot and first prize.
