In 1998 Scotty Nguyen played one of his best hands. He held: His opponent, Kevin McBride, had: McBrides first action was to raise $50,000. Scotty called. The flop came: Two times Nguyen check-called: at the flop and at the turn. When he checked at the flop McBride bet $100,000. Nguyen called. On the turn Nguyen made a full house: He checked again. And again McBride bet $100,000. Only one card could help him at this moment to make a straight flush. But it didnt come. Instead of that the river was: Now it was a full house on a board and Nguyen had a better full house. Scotty bet $310,000. It meant that to call this bet McBride had to go all-in. Then Scotty said:You call this one and its all over babyMcBride answered:I call. I play the boardHe hoped for a split pot. But Scotty took it all: $1,000,000 and the title.
