It was the sixth season of the popular World Poker Tour show, and this time Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten were in Paris. It was the Grand Prix de Paris, taking place at the Aviation Club (where Isabelle Mercier used to work), and the young fellow at the table was gone. 20 year old Philip Yeh of Sweden had gone out in 5th place, leaving only the players from Denmark and Finland to fight it out.
In this hand aggression was the key. As commentator Mike Sexton was fond of saying, No Limit Texas Holdem was a game where you did not need the cards to win a hand, sometimes just heart.
The two players from Denmark bowed out of this hand and let the country men - and friends - from Finland fight. Thomas Wahlroos raised to 60,000 in tourney Euros with:
... His pal Jani Sointula, known as "Hellraiser" on the tourney circuit, called holding:
... and it was on to the flop.
The flop hit:

... and Thomas was first to act. He checked, then called after Jani bet 60,000 Euros, and they both looked to the turn.
The turn came:
... and Tomas checked. At this point Wahlroos was out ahead, but with the board reading the way it did, he had no way of knowing. His pal could have any number of card and suit combinations and have him crushed. So when Jani bet 120,000 Euros, making yet another perfect read on the situation, there was little his opponent could do.
Thomas folded and shipped the pot to Hellraiser.
