WPT Season 6 - Hellraiser and His Buddy

  It is an amazing feat to make it to the final table of any major poker event, and the Grand Prix de Paris during the sixth season of the World Poker Tour was no exception. Held in the swanky and famous Aviation Club in Paris, it was even more amazing when two friends made it to the same table. Two players from Finland, who had been playing against each other for five years, were among the four players left, and were about to tangle in this hand.  Christian Grundtvig, from Denmark, and Henrik Witt, also from Denmark, folded out of the way when Jani Sointula - the one they call Hellraiser - raised the action to 60,000 euros with: ... Thomas Wahlroos made the call with: ... and it was time for the first three board cards.  The flop hit: ... giving Thomas a nut flush draw, but keeping Jani ahead with his pair. Although it was surprising that he checked with a flush draw of his own and jacks, he did, as did his friend.  The turn came: ... and Thomas checked - this time Jani bet 80,000 euros. Thomas, however, raised to 240,000 euros, trying to out-muscle his pal. Jani called.  When the river hit: ... Thomas immediately moved all in for 683,000 euros.  The Hellraiser thought long and hard, but showed that at his heart he was a cautious player. Jani folded the best hand. His expression, however, after Thomas told him he was bluffed, was a horrible thing to see.
