During the 2008 World Poker Tour season, Bill Edler almost busted out. He was down to 2 chips and managed to catch a lucky break and wound up at the final table at the Gulf Coast Poker Championship event. Eventually he went heads up with David Robinson. His luck continued when in this particular hand both players started with an Ace. Bill was holding: ... and he raised to $300,000 in tournament cash and chips. David was holding: ... and made the call, and it was off to the flop. The flop came down: ... a monster hand for Bill. He decided to slow play it. David also checked. The turn came: ... and once more David checked the hand. This time Bill bet $500,000. David went into the tank and decided his ace was good. Eventually he made more than a call - he pushed all in. Bill, naturally, called. David was drawing dead. The river card came: ... and Bill made an unnecessary full house for the win.
