NBC National Heads-Up Championship - If a Tree Falls on Ted Forrest

  When the first round of NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship got underway, it was four brackets of a total of sixty four poker pros and celebrities all trying to knock each other out of the running, one by one. A match up that folks figured they could call with all confidence was Orel Hershiser versus Ted Forrest.  There was Orel, an amateur poker player and a pro baseball player, taking on not only one of the top pros in the world, but a former National Heads-Up Poker Championship winner in Ted. Suffice to say Ted was likely more surprised than anyone during the course of the next two hands.  The first hand put Orel first to act with: ... with which he limped in. Ted, the short stack, moved all in with: ... and Orel made a gutsy call. The flop hit: ... giving Ted hope. Sure enough, with a turn of: ... and a river of: ... Ted managed to double up.  In the next hand Ted was first to act, and once more he had an Ace. He took his: ... and moved all in for around ten thousand. Orel, still chip leader, made the call with: ... When the flop hit it was all but over. The flop came: ... giving Orel the number of the beast. When the next two cards came: ... it was all over, and the former Heads-Up champ hit the road in his first match, knocked out of the park by the baseball player.
