Poker Superstars - Are You Saying He Is Trying to Bluff?

During the semi finals of Poker Superstars III it was Gus Hansen and Antonio Esfandiari in a heads up match, and commentators Chris Rose and Howard The Professor Lederer were tickled to watch these two very aggressive players play counter to their nature in hopes of catching each other out. While Antonio was the first to catch on that Gus was employing the same strategy that he was, it was Gus who had the first opportunity to make something of it, as seen in this hand.

Antonio started out with a limp while the blinds were still $15k and $30k in tourney chips, holding:

... Gus checked his option with:

a hand he might have tossed if put to a call - and the Flop came:

... Gus bet out $30k and got a call from the Magician. The Turn came:

... and Antonio was still leading with his Ace high hand. Gus checked, as did Antonio, and the River came:

... Gus bet out the pot just as Howard said he would, and Chris piped up, Are you saying hes trying to bluff? in a joking manner. Howard answered seriously, He is playing this like hes played big hands in the past. Small bet on the Flop, check on the Turn, and big bet on the River - time and time he had played this way, and now when he had nothing, he did it again, and Antonio couldnt take the chance - I think you have me, Gus he said, and mucked the winning hand.
