Poker After Dark - The Italian Makes the Crying Call

  In the heads up match between David Benyamine and Marco Traniello it was France versus Italy, and both country's men wanted that top prize, the winner take all $120k. The format was NBC's hit poker show, Poker After Dark, and it was Couples Week. Their partners, Erica Shoenberg and Jennifer Harman, had long gone by the wayside and it was up to the men to bring home the bacon.  In this hand Traniello limped in with: ... a nice suited connector. David checked from the big blind with: ... and it was time for the flop. The board cards hit: ... and it looked like Traniello was going to lift some chips away from the Frenchman. Marco bet $1,200 and David called, then it was time for the turn. The turn came: ... and once more Marco led out. He bet $2,400 and once more David called. The river hit: ... and just like that stole Marco's thunder. He checked, wisely, and when David made it $6k to go, made the crying call. Marco shook his head - and David did too. This was not the first time the Frenchman would get lucky in this game, and it was far from the last.
