Poker After Dark is a great show to watch to catch the pros in action. Typically they play a short handed winner take all No Limit Holdem tournament, but this particular week the theme was The Cash Game, where players paid $100k of their own cash to play. Phil Hellmuth, Tom Dwar, Allen Cunningham, Guy Laliberte, Mike Baxter, and David Peat were the players, and in this hand the Poker Brat took a beating. Peat started off with: ... and raised it pre flop to $1,200. Phil smooth called with: ... Behind him Allen called with his own wired pair: ... The flop hit: ... and Phil thought he was going to break whoever stayed in the hand with him. Allen checked from under the gun, and Peat fired $2,200 at the pot. Phil smooth called again, hoping to trap Allen. Well, Allen did what he wanted to and raised ($11k). Peat folded and Phil said, "That's what I was waiting for fellas. I'm all in." It was $17,700, which, of course, Allen called. When they rolled over their cards, Phil couldn't belive it. Set over set is rare, and almost always means big trouble for whomever has the lesser set of three cards. Could Phil get lucky with quads? The turn came: ... the river: ... and Phil was out. But, as this was The Cash Game, he simply got his bookbag and pulled out another $100k to play.
