During the directors cut episode of Couples Week on the NBC show Poker After Dark, three pairs of men and women competed for a single prize - $120,000. One couple, David Benyamine and Erica Schoenberg, was already cut in half as the former model and blackjack pro was sent packing. During this hand the cautious Italian that beat Erica, mixed it up with the movie star. Marco Traniello was holding fishhooks: ... and opened things up with a raise to $1200 in tournament chips and cash. Jennifer Tilly, the movie star, made the call holding an inferior hand: ... perhaps hoping to out flop a single opponent. The board cards were: ... this is a dangerous type of board for a hand like the one Jennifer was holding. Typically, when you get top pair, your hand is winning, but she could not see that Marco had started out with a higher pair in his hand. Jennifer put $2000 in the pot and Marco raised to $6,000. Jennifer could not let it go and raised it to $12,000, which Marco called. The turn was: ... and both players checked, nervous about the straight possibilities. The river was: ... and once more both players checked and the pot was shipped over to Marco.
