Everyone, no matter how good they are at game of poker, makes a mistake from time to time. However one expects that professional poker players that are seen on the TV show Poker After Dark would make fewer mistakes. In this particular hand one player made a spectacular mistake and had a hard time living in down.
It was Jam-Up Week, and Antonio Esfandiari, Eli Elezra, Mike Matusow, Barry Greenstein, Howard Lederer, and David Williams were all determined to win. In this particular hand it was Mike "The Mouth" Matusow and Eli Elezra to butt heads.
Mike started off with a decent hand:
... and just called the big blind. Eli made a raise to $1,100 with:
... Mike called and it was time to see some cards. The flop came down:

... and Mike showed little weakness, despite his over pair, by checking. Eli bet $1,000 and Mike, not to be outdone, raised it to $2,500, which Eli called. The turn card was:
... and this time Mike wanted to take the lead. He put out $2,500 and Eli made the call - although to Mike it seemed like something different. In poker, whenever a player puts out a single unit that is greater than the required call and does not say "raise," it is treated like a call. Eli did just that when he put a $10,000 bundle on the table. Mike, unfortunately for him, thought it was a raise and folded the best hand.
The entire table immediately started teasing him about folding to a call. But in poker, if you say fold or push your hand in the muck, your cards are dead even if you didn't mean to do it.
