One player had already been eliminated during Couples Week on the hit NBC show Poker After Dark, and a second one was on his way. Jennifer Tilly, Phil Laak, David Benyamine, Erica Schoenberg, Jennifer Harman, and Marco Traniello had all paid the $20,000 buy in in this winner take all game, hunting the $120,000 top prize.
In the previous hand Phil had lost a bundle of chips to David and once more these two tangled. David opened things up with a raise of $1500 holding a marginal hand:

It was, after all, only another $500 to knock Phil out. Phil was happy when he saw that he had David dominated, but he still had a feeling he was out of the game. He stood up, came around, and shook David's hand as the flop was dealt. The flop was:
