Poker After Dark - Four in a Row

The week had dragged on with no casualties as yet, but that was soon to change. It was Hecklers' Week at NBC's hit poker show, Poker After Dark, and all six players were still in. Shawn Sheikhan, Jean-Robert Bellande, and Mike Matusow, tangled in this hand while the others watched.

Bellande pushed it to $700 with:

... and Mike moved all in to the tune of $4,950 holding:

... Unfortunately for him, he found a caller in Shawn, who woke up with:

... He had enough chips that he may have decided to push all in as well, in order to try and isolate Mike. This is considered a good strategy for a pocket pair hand. He just called, however, perhaps sensing that Bellande was weak enough to fold. Robert did fold, leaving it to "the Mouth" and "the Sheik" to see who would make it.

The flop mostly put that question to rest. The three board cards were:

... giving the set to Shawn. The turn card:

... did open up a few more outs, however. Mike missed them all. The river card came down:

... and Mike Matusow was out in 6th place. In fact, it was the fourth time in a row he was out first from Poker After Dark.
