Andy Bloch is no cowboy, not really. He does have a predilection for wearing a cowboy hat when he plays poker, however, and this was likely the reason he was chosen to participate in Poker After Dark during Cowboy Week, along with the "Alabama Cowboy" himself, Hoyt Corkins, Doyle Brunson, Chau Giang, Gabe Kaplan, and Chris Ferguson. Bloch started out in the world of cards as part of the infamous MIT blackjack team, but has found even greater success as a tournament poker player. In this hand Gabe started out the action, looking for some of the chips Andy held that made him the chip leader by more than two to one over his closest competition, Doyle. Gabe lead out with the same hand he held earlier: ... raising to $1,150. Andy with: ... made the call. When the flop came down: ... Gabe lead out once more with $2,100. Andy figured that now was the time to show a little moxie and moved all in for $15,500. Gabe called, and Andy let the table know how he felt about that when he said, "Oops." The turn came: ... and only an Ace would save Bloch now. It was not to be so, and the river was: ... pushing the pot to Gabe who was now the chip leader. The rest of the players congratulated him on the big hand and even Andy couldn't begrudge him the win.
