When Poker After Dark started their new season, they started to bring in some new blood as well. In the Cash Game episode, where players paid $100k to play, Phil Hellmuth, Tom Dwan, Allen Cunningham, Guy Laliberte, Mike Baxter, and David Peat were invited to play, with only Allen and Phil being old timers. In this hand two pals, Dwan and Peat, mixed it up. Dwan had Big Slick and made it $1,500 to go with his: ... Guy was in for a call with: ... Peat called as well with: ... The flop was interesting. It came: ... giving two of the players straights and one a gutshot straight draw. Guy, with the draw, checked, and Peat bet out $3k. Dwan, with the bigger straight, called. He did not raise because, he admitted later, he misread Guy, thinking he saw interest in the hand. But Guy folded and it was time for the turn. The turn came: ... Peat checked, Dwan bet $7,300, and Peat called. The river came: ... and Peat checked, Dwan bet $17,600, and Peat went into the tank. He said later that he was certain Dwan had him beat, but he couldn't get away from the hand. He called and paid off his pal.
