Poker After Dark - A Light Bluff

  The poker show on NBC, Poker After Dark, has a lot of fans, players that would watch the show and imagine how they would play the pros in such a format, but as it is an invitational only event, there is no chance to live that fantasy. And then Ken Light came along.



  The Poker After Dark Dream Table show featured amateur player Ken Light and his five favorite players: Scotty Nguyen, Jen Harman, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, and Daniel Negreanu, that he got to play after winning a special Full Tilt Poker game. In this hand he went up against his all time favorite player, Kid Poker, and tried out a few moves.



  Ken started the action with a raise to $800 with:






... The only caller was Dan, with:






... who couldn't help coming along for such a discount. The flop came:







... and once more Ken, who was out of position, lead out with $800. Daniel quickly called to see where this was going. The turn came:





... and, despite a paired board, Ken fired out again, making it $1,200 to go. Kid Poker called again. When the river hit:





... Ken stopped fooling around; there was about $5k in the pot, so that was what he bet. The amount floored Kid Poker, who exclaimed "What the! Why so much?" In the end he couldn't bring himself to believe that Light was bluffing so much and folded.
