Top Ten Celebrity Poker Pros: Actor and Poker Star Brad Garrett

Brad Garrett

If you happen to be at the World Series of Poker next year, and see one of the poker pros who happens to be 6’8”, and mildly resemble a Bassett hound, you will know you are in the presence of celebrity poker star Brad Garrett. Despite what his character is like on the classic comedy hit “Everybody Loves Raymond”, Brad is not a guy you want to cross holdem swords with at the WSOP or anywhere else for that matter.

Brad Garrett is yet another alumnus of the infamous show, “Celebrity Poker Showdown”, where he emerged as one of the programs winners. Of course being victorious at that particular holdem based television show was sort of like being the tallest Oompa Loompa in the candy factory, Brad later proved he could stand tall (both literally and figuratively) among the top poker pros. He has been a rather product cash game player as well as a regular at the World Series of Poker. When not at the WSOP, he has been spotted playing in, and winning celebrity events, while tirelessly playing holdem in charity events. For a time Brad also represented Bodog as one of their celebrity poker stars.

Over the years, Mr. Garrett has proved that he is much more than a type cast, celebrity poker star who can’t perform outside of the sit-com that made him famous. He gained Emmy award attention when he portrayed television pioneer and comedy icon, Jackie Gleason, and has also had success on Broadway.

While it will be unlikely that he ever recaptures the popularity and success he enjoyed during “Everybody Loves Raymond”, he is versatile enough to always be busy. It is also almost a lock that he will be trying to win the WSOP Main Event bracelet again in the near future.
