Default In Doyle We Trust

I see you are all great fans of Doyle Brunson. Why is that?

Because of his 10-2. It's not a great hand. But when you win with it two times in a row...
And I saw it once again on WSOP 2003 DVD.

Winnings with 10-2 are impressive ones!
And he reaches out to poker amateurs http://www.launchpoker.com/news/05082006/3066_doyle-brunson-reaches-out-to-amateurs.html

And because he has proven himself as one of the strongest poker pros, it is visible not only on 2003 WSOP DVD Respect

Well...partially for the same reason Basketball fans love Michael Jordon, or race car fans love Richard Petty...because he is a legendary figure in the sport, or game, that has had a consistant winning history, and seems to be a nice guy, to boot. He is very approachable, from all the stories you hear, and is one of the last hold outs from the very begining of the WSOP and beyond.

Respect...yep, thats a good answer, too.

Doyle Brunson didn't grow up playing poker on the internet. He traveled the circuit, hitting underground games and the like. Simply put, the man has balls, charisma, and he demands respect. Also, I'd wager good money that he could beat Phil Helmuth in arm wrestling.

Default Doyles lovechild

As long as we are speaking on the topic of Doyles lovechild, is Todd's mediocre standing in the sport a result of the fact that he will always be compared to Doyle, or is he truly just one of the pack?

TBD, but I hear that Michael Jordan's son. Who is in High School is not very good, and it is actually going to get him a major scholarship, so sometimes riding papa's coattail helps.

Hitchhiking off of your father's glory has a pretty good track record: Peyton Manning, Michael Douglas, Keifer "Jack Baur" Southerland....on and on..
