Usually when the words “Badass Girl’s” and “Party” are used in the same sentence, visions of pillow fights, tickling, and intimate “comparisons” spring immediately to mind. Today we live in a kinder, gentler world where that type of “Animal House” stereotype are almost completely dead, and ladies are a vibrant and welcome part of the Texas Hold’em/poker player culture. This is evidenced by the ladies poker tournaments at the WSOP and the WPT, and the fact that poker rooms now smell more like flowers then they do sweat and desperation. While there are a lot of poker books on the market to help women learn to play Texas Hold’em, one of the most fun products out there is The Badass Girl's Poker Party Kit.
Okay, this isn’t exactly the sort of product that would get a thumbs up from David Sklansky. In the genre of poker books, this little page turner (and other parts of the kit) are geared to helping a female poker player throw a pretty good poker party. As we all know, a home game is not the WSOP, so very little about this kit screams serious poker. It includes the book, shot glasses, playing cards (very low quality), etc. What the author seems to have decided was that Bad Ass girls are too bad ass for poker chips. They don’t come with the kit. It does come with some very interesting cheat sheet napkins. While these little playing aids probably wouldn’t fly at a proper poker tournament, they are probably a fun addition to an evening of poker with friends.
If this kit was expensive, it wouldn’t be worth the money. The fact is that somebody can buy this from Amazon.com for $1.99. With Christmas coming up it would make a great little stocking stuffer.
