  This book (published in 1978) is often called a bible of poker. Doyle Brunson once said that he wished he had never written it. He had given away too many secrets. Super System seems very simple, but its not enough to own it try to master it and youll understand why it is a bible. Just reading this book will not make you a poker star, though poker stars made this book. Among them: Texas Dolly himself, Bobby Baldwin, David Reese, Joey Hawthorne, David Sklanski and Mike Caro. Every author contributed to this book writing on one of the kinds of poker: seven-card stud, seven-card low stud (razz), high-low split, draw poker, lowball.  You know about Doyles aggressive style. In his book he explains why he preferred to choose an aggressive style. Doyles section no-limit Texas Holdem, a kind of poker, in which he was genius. He gets at the truth explaining even the psychology of the game. Never be afraid of taking risks. Thats how Doyle teaches in this book. Be aggressive and brave while your opponents prefer safety to aggressiveness.  Doyles Super System is basic reading for everyone who wants to become an unsurpassed poker player. It is the reason to own this book but not the only one. Definitely, not the only one. Youll find there Stan Hunts caricatures on (of) the poker players. One more reason Mike Caros statistics and odds, which can be put into practice.  This book makes you understand that to be the best you should be mad a little.
